Q: What is The Aruquet Project?
A: The Aruqutet Project is a one-time food box distribution to as many Calista Region communities as possible within the grant budget.
Q: Who manages this project?
A: The Aruqutet Project is managed by Bethel Community Services Foundation and based in Bethel, Alaska.
A: The Aruqutet Project is funded by Calista Corporation through a geographical place-based grant received by through the Federal Cares Act to increase food security throughout the Calista Region during the COVID-19 pandemic.
A: No sign-up is needed. Adults 18 and over in the communities listed on our homepage will be eligible for a food box. If you are not able to pick up your box on distribution day, you can send another adult to pick up for you.
A: Each food box includes about 17 pounds of food and includes items listed on our homepage. Substitutions may be needed due to uncontrollable supply chain logistics.
A: Not necessarily. The survery was used to poll community members on the types of items you would like in a box. The planning team then selected the final box contents based on the most popular responses and grant budget.
Q: Is there a menu?
A: Each food box includes the same items. There is not menu or selection process.
Q: How long will the Aruqutet project run?
A: The project will run through August 2022 with plans to visit 48 communities listed on our homepage. Stay tuned to our website - project updates section, Facebook Page, and Instagram for information on when we'll be in your community.

Q: Can I get a food box even if I'm not a Calista Corporation Shareholder?
A: Yes, you do not need to be a Shareholder. This grant and The Aruqutet Project is for all adults 18 and over living in the Calista Region Communities listed on our homepage. It is a place-based grant intended to help with food security in the Calista Region, meaning it's based on geographical location, not shareholder status.
